HALLIDAY CARPENDER
Ibex go vertical for salt. Float
to the top of a dam and press
their tongues to what has been
leached from the concrete.
Deer wend their way through
the woods, following the netting
of half-melted snow, dirt burning
holes through its thinnest points.
When moose reach the mineral
lick the moon swings like a hammock
between trees. They cannot tell their
antlers from the branches above.
