IN WOLF’S CLOTHING

MAL GRACE

MY OWN WOMANHOOD MAKES ME BLUSH

BECAUSE UNDERNEATH IT ALL

I’M STILL PRIMORDIAL VELVET,

STILL A RELENTLESSLY CHURNING TIDE,

THE DUSK THAT SENDS BATS OUT TO FEED.

I AM THE SILVER SONG OF MOONLIGHT

THAT UNEARTHS WHAT KNOWS ITS TIME HAS COME.

MY FEMININITY WOULD NEVER BOARD A THIEF;

IT USES ALL PARTS OF THE ANIMAL

AND SO I MAKE CROWNS OUT OF BONES.
